I've always had an affinity towards scarves. Whether they're silk, wool, cotton, or linen, worn in the frozen temps of winter or the scorching days of summer, I love their versatility and outfit-boosting qualities. My Mom gave me a box of her silk scarves (circa her 1980s working days at Intel) a few months before she passed, and I love that 30 years later they're still in style. I tend to use them mostly on handbags or as belts, but after seeing these photos I think I may need to incorporate them more so with outfits. Here are some of my favorite looks:PS. My internal grammatical nag reared its ugly head while I was writing this post, specifically honing in on my use of scarves, causing me an abundance of self doubt and wondering if scarfs was in fact the proper spelling. However, it seems that the two can be used interchangeably, if dictionary.com is to be trusted :)

I love scarves too, and have amassed quite a collection over the years, but I'm like you ... I don't incorporate them into my outfits enough. When I think about it, I usually just wear them to keep warm and then take them off when I remove my outerwear. Thanks for the inspiration to make them an integral part of the outfit!

I love the way scarves transform an outfit but it's almost always too warm to wear one where I live. It's awesome to see these pictures here...I need to go for a holiday where I can wear scarves!

I own probably 30 different scarves, and I will always buy them--no matter how many I amass. I just love them. My big three wardrobe staples are cardigans, belts, and scarves. Can't go wrong. I especially love a great linen scarf in the summer because it's so unexpected and chic.

A scarf can update a look or an outfit. I love collecting Hermes scarves, no matter how pricey they are. I own about a dozen, not too crazy and constantly trolling ebay for great buys.
