When I first started teaching myself how to cook, adjectives like comfortable, enjoyable, and confident would have been the last words I used to describe my time in the kitchen. Fast forward a few years and I can say without a doubt that not only do I enjoy being in the kitchen and cooking, but I am comfortable; a feeling in which I doubted would ever come as I would try, and many times fail at, new dishes. While I still have a ways to go in the confidence department, my time spent in the kitchen everyday has become invaluable, as it's the one place where I can slow down, think, focus, and create. Subsequently, as my love for cooking grows, so does my affection towards light, airy kitchens that I find myself dreaming about daily. Here are a few that recently caught my eye:

Kitchens 3 and 4 I adore... but with a brick/stone floor? Not good for a foodie who spends much time on her feet at the stove and sink. Love the dark wood however. I must ask, why are all these kitchens devoid of wine glasses on the counters??!! :)
i ADORE the white + wood: so clean but cozy! i used to be all about color but now i'm minimal. these kitchens are making me drool!

I love brick floors in a kitchen like in the third pic.
it is SO encouraging to read this.. my fiance is a whiz in the kitchen and i'm...just not. it's so frustrating to spend 2 hours on a dish and have it turn out awful! but i def need to keep up with it to get better. having a space like one of these kitchens would be nice too ;)

I am soooo with you on this one. Which is usually the case, because you have great taste. But my dream kitchen for sure includes dark harwoods, whitewashed cabinets, and marble. Great pics! XOXO

And I have to say that I only recently started getting a little bit comfortable with cooking. My mother can't cook and I thought I was just destined for a similar fate. For the past two years I tried changing that, and it's taken that long for me to get to that point. However, I'm getting married and moving in five months and one of the rooms I really can't wait to decorate is the kitchen! Never thought it would be like that. :)

The AGA (featured in the second photo) is my absolute number one requirement for my dream kitchen. I grew up cooking and, especially, baking on one it is is fabulous! My first apartment (moving in less than a week) has a regular stove and I am going to miss it so much! I can't even predict the number of times I'll forget to preheat the oven.

I love every single one of these. My kitchen in my last house was really just perfect for me. While I like my current one also, it just doesn't seem to have adequate storage for both my kitchen and tabletop collections!!
