The post-holiday lull that appears in the form of barren, stark January days is always a hard (yet somewhat welcomed) adjustment for me. Gone are the animated greens, statically cheerful figurines, and glowing spirited lights, and in their place stand the familiar decorations of old, all of which take no time settling in for the eleven months ahead until their Yuletide counterparts take over once more. Transitional embellishments to ease the abrupt contrast would be a novel idea, but the last thing our closets need are more themed decor. With that said, I surprisingly fell quite hard for this simple, nearly monochromatic, home. Antique charm mixed with eclectically modern pieces create beautifully quiet spaces; a much needed dose of inspiration this time of year indeed.

These are totally motivating me on my goal to improve my space!
Beautiful, fresh, and inviting.
Happy New Year AnneMarie! Thank you for all the inspiration!
Very serene, peaceful and quiet, I like the feeling they evoke, I need a little more of that in my own life:)
Maybe I'm dull, but I love a serene, neutral, calming aesthetic all year round.
This is so refreshing, Annemarie. Such a quiet and restful place.
Hope that you have a great weekend planned.

So pretty! I love simple monochromatic homes. For some reason, I'm just really drawn to them. I think it's the light clean feeling they give off.
I absolutely crave bright whites and clean spaces come January.
These spaces have such high style and are yet so serene. I'm inspired. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend!
I looove the ceiling detail, and especially the little jewelry tray. So much inspiration for sure.
This is a great space...I want all the art work!
I need a space like this right now.
I always do a little cleaning out after the holidays. It feels so much better to create more room and less clutter!

This house is so cool! It's very clean, and yet edgy at the same time!
I agree. The light fixtures do look interesting...or...spirited.

These are gorgeous! I especially love the small, centralized pop of color of the first one. They're all so calming.

Beautiful pictures! I'm in the process of completely redecorating my studio and just about every other room in my house. I'm loving clean, white, shabby chic spaces. I'm one of those people who needs spaces to be functional and pretty. That's not too much to ask, is it?! PS--you are an excellent writer, and I love it.
wow, want these spaces to be mine. So clean and pretty.
I am IN LOVE with the art in the second picture... NEED things like that for my home!! Great post, as usual!

Absolutely stunning! You can almost feel the stillness of the space through the photos. I love the vacancy of the chairs and the amount of natural light
