DIY Inspiration: Gold Spray Painted Animals

I've noticed this trend of spray painted animal toys as of late, and I must say, I'm totally on board with this type of simple and inexpensive decor.  The animals look super cute incorporated into anything from party settings to alongside books on a shelf, and the best part is that the entire process of making them yourself is relatively inexpensive. Bins of these plastic animals can be found at places like Michaels or on Amazon for cheap (here's a tub of 60 animals for $16) and a can of gold spray paint can run under $5. They really are the perfect little festive nicknack to have around. Okay, I know what I'll be doing this weekend!

Here are a few more spray painted animals I'm loving:

Ah! I saw this on Pinterest several weeks ago-- I think it was a spray painted elephant on a stack of coffee table books! I love it, and posted it in one of my Friday Five's. I need to hop on this and spray paint some little animals! So cute.

I am seriously headed to Michaels, Annemarie! What a great die, especially for place tags! I have heard the the Rustoleum is the best metallic paint, so I may have to go to Lowes too.

Teresa- Oh love that idea for place tags! And yes- Rustoleum is awesome! I used it in white for the basket part of my DIY chandelier and it worked so well. I'd imagine their metallic gold is really pretty! x

I 'have' to pick up some spray glitter this weekend to revamp a bag of pine cones. I think I may have to pick up some gold spray paint and a few animals while I'm at it!

Sarah- Spray painted pine cones is a genius idea! How pretty for the holidays. Take a pic if you end up doing so! I'd love to see :) x

Those miniatures are so lovely. Kudos to whoever customized it! It’s never easy to use spray paint, be it may a large or small object because you have to consider the fairness of the paint applied to each and every sides of it.
