Red, White, and Blue Sangria

red, white, and blue sangria recipe

Happy 4th of July! I came across this sangria recipe via Punchbowl and it looked too good not to share.

Red, White, and Blue Sangria

+ Strawberries, sliced
+ Blueberries
+ Pineapple, cut into star shapes
+ 2 bottles dry white wine
+ 1 cup Triple Sec
+ 1/2 Cup berry-flavored vodka
+ 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
+ 1/2 cup simple syrup

Combine the ingredients in a large pitcher and stir. Chill in the refrigerator for at least four hours.

Be safe & enjoy today! x

A Neutral Holiday

I love the neutral decor used in this house. Everything is subtle yet still warm and festive for the season.

I cannot believe Christmas is 10 days away and that 2011 is upon us. Time flies!

Simple Holiday Decor

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I am in the process of switching out all of our fall decorations for more holiday themed ones, but being that I cannot stand any sort of clutter, I've been looking up ways to do so without going overboard. I came across this simple holiday photoshoot by stylist Eva Lindh and fell in love with it's clean and simple feel for the season.

I love that wreath mobile above the dining table. I see a DIY in my future!

Thanksgiving Tablescape Basics: Using What You Have

Searching 'thanksgiving tablescape' on Google for decoration ideas quickly overwhelms me every year. While the array of meticulously staged photos are beyond gorgeous, I must admit that over-the-top, fancy shmancy tables are not practical for our family most of the time. Some of my favorite pieces to use on a Thanksgiving table are festive, yet simple enough to arrange quickly without cutting into cooking and family time. Best of all? They're inexpensive- or free if you have a park or trail nearby.
Leaves, pine cones, branches, and acorns also make for beautiful table top decorations. The food is the main star anyway, so no need to stress over the decorations!
